Rabitard LS Capsules

Composition: Enteric-coated Rabeprazole 20 mg and Levosulpiride 75 mg capsules combine two medications to address gastrointestinal issues.

  • Rabeprazole 20 mg (Enteric-Coated):

    • Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI).

    • It works by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach.

    • The enteric coating protects the medication from being dissolved in the stomach, ensuring it's released in the intestines for better absorption. This helps to prevent the medicine from being deactivated by stomach acid.

    • It's used to treat conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

  • Levosulpiride 75 mg:

    • Levosulpiride is a prokinetic agent.

    • It helps to increase the movement of the stomach and intestines, promoting faster gastric emptying.

    • This can relieve symptoms like bloating, nausea, and vomiting.

    • It also has actions as a dopamine D2 receptor antagonist.

  • Combination Use:

    • This combination is often prescribed to treat conditions where both excessive stomach acid and impaired gastric motility are present, such as in certain cases of GERD or functional dyspepsia.

    • This combination helps to both reduce the acid production, and to help the stomach to empty its contents faster.
