Composition : Metronidazole Extended Release Tablets 600 mg

Primary Uses

• Bacterial Vaginosis (BV): This is one of the most common reasons a doctor prescribes the ER form. It treats vaginal infections caused by an overgrowth of harmful anaerobic bacteria, helping to clear up abnormal discharge and odor.

• Parasitic Infections: It is highly effective against specific parasites, including:

  • Trichomoniasis: A common sexually transmitted parasitic infection.

  • Amebiasis & Amoebic Dysentery: Severe intestinal or liver infections caused by amoeba parasites.

  • Giardiasis: A parasitic infection of the small intestine that causes diarrhea and stomach cramps.

• Gastrointestinal and Intra-abdominal Infections: It treats deep bacterial infections within the stomach, intestines, or pelvic area.

• Dental and Gum Infections: Doctors or dentists use it to treat severe tooth abscesses, gum ulcers, and other deep oral bacterial infections.

• Surgical Prevention: It is sometimes prescribed before or immediately after certain surgeries (like bowel or gynecological surgeries) to prevent bacterial infections from developing.
